The Wailing Wall is New York-based multi-instrumentalist, Jesse Rifkin. Rifkin is an undeniably talented songwriter, who can be simple and direct or grand and atmospheric, with elements crashing together around his uniquely pitched voice. Reading a little bit of his biography, in which I learned he was raised with both Jewish and Hinduh Liturgical traditions, made me realize that his music is the real deal. The use of indian instruments and sounds with the combination of particuarly deep lyrics in the song “Bones Become Rainbows” is the perfect example of the great result that Rifkin can create. It evens reminds me of my favorite movie “The Darjeeling Limited”, someone should call Wes Anderson to put this in the soundtrack! - PC

The Wild Beasts have been around the indie music scene for a while, but it wasn’t until the success of their second album “Two Dancers” released in 2009, that they really make a splash. Frontman and bassist Hayden Thorpe, has an extraordinary dominion over the falsetto note, which is rare and surprising in any band today. In the song “The Devil’s Crayon” his vocals are specifically highlighted and brought out even greatly by the melancholy lyrics. If I had to compare them to anyone it would be The Anthlers meets Friendly Fires, but truly they deserve to stand on their own as a band. - PC

I know my tumblr is about music, but this is Harry Potter so I can make an exception.
Just 9 more days until the movie that I grew up with is completely over with.
I will be attending this festival in less than a month….
Mumford and Sons and Arctic Monkeys live….
Could these two weeks pass any slower?
Arctic Monkeys - Do me a favor.
Dom is a musical collective, lo-fi pop group based in Worcester, Massachusetts. They’ve been creating quite a buzz with their recent releases and performances at festivals, such as SXSW. Although Dom (vocals, guitar) is the mastermind behind the band, he has joined forces with other musicians and producers from Poland, Hungary, Australia and Spain to create a psych, garage-surf sound. You could probably compare them to the likes of Smith Westerns, Surfer Blood and Best Coast. Anyway, it IS so sexy to be living in America. - KJ

It seems a lot of good music is coming out of Australia these days, Atlas Genius being the embodiment of it. There isn’t much information about this band yet, but from what we’ve heard, we can determine that they are a foursome who compare their style to Phoenix and The Kooks, which is right on with their song “Trojans”. The song houses an upbeat, guitar pop complexion that remains dominant over the faint use of keyboards, light hearted drumming, and some very catchy lyrics. They are definitely on my music radar towards future stardom. - PC
